Happy New Year From Joyful Bounce!

In 2020, I caught the joy of jump rope on social media.  First it was the Jump Rope Dudes. Then Tori Boggs and many others. People would move inside their jump ropes with such grace and freedom. It looked like so much fun. I jumped right in!

The first thing I found out was that jump ropes don’t work like they used to… for me… the way they did when I was a kid. Getting over the rope was the first challenge. Landing was the second… the ground was a lot harder than it used to be, too. When I finally got 25 jumps in a row a few weeks later, I was pretty proud of myself.

I invested in a super nice jump rope. I gave myself an “easy” challenge… to be able to jump for 10 straight minutes within a year. Long story short, I failed. I couldn’t help but wonder how many other people like me were out there, who caught that jump rope inspiration, and then got stuck when their bodies couldn’t keep up with the vision in their hearts. If even 1% of the half a million new JRD subscribers since 2020 had the same struggle that I did, that’s a lot of people.

Joyful Bounce is designed to be a place where people can come together and find a way to succeed when obstacles come along. It’s about finding a sustainable, joyful way to make it to the finish line. It’s for people who say jump rope is hard, but we love it. Along the way, I’ll share the tools, habits, info, and mindsets that help me reach my goal. And I’ll share the failures too. We all have them, and they’re the only way to success. While the end is still unknown, I will do my best to make it this time. And I hope you will too!
